I remember as a “little fellow” helping my grandpa feed his cows, and bottle-feeding the baby calves. I got started raising cattle at a young age when I bought my first baby calf named Rose. I began to buy baby calves to practice roping when I was competing in miniature rodeos.
Being around bulls and becoming a stock contractor has always been a lifelong dream of mine. Growing up with a farming, ranching, and rodeo background has influenced my love for raising livestock. After many years of roping, raising commercial cattle, and fighting bulls I decided to start my own bucking stock program. My grandparents that live close by helped me achieve what I have today. I purchased my first rodeo bred livestock, a Broke Back V son, #36 Huleo and a cow-calf pair in May 2003. Since I was attending college out of town I needed help keeping an eye on my herd, so I asked my Papa and my family to join in partnership to what is known today as Toby Martin Bucking Bulls.
Since the operation has expanded, the females are produced and marketed under Kill’em Kwik Cattle Company. The motto around here is “if they don’t buck kill’em”, no need to feed one who won’t buck or doesn’t produce a bucker. I started out with a small # of bulls and cows and I have now increased my herd to over 50 head of top quality females and about 40 head of bulls, an the herd seems to be growing every day.
